I have multiple daffodils in my bouquet. The large trumpet facing us I believe to be 'Glen Cova', the tiny one is 'Grand Soleil d'Or'. The dark foliage in the front is Loropetalum 'Ever Red', blooming its head off now. For filler I used some Acorus 'Sweet Flag Grass' think it is Ogon.
Also included was a handful of Grape Muscari armeniacum, love those little blue bell shaped blooms.
Tucked in the middle is Viburnum tinus 'Spring Bouquet', I haven't had any fragrance from it yet.....maybe it is the wrong time of day when I am trying to catch a whiff? I know some plants put off their scent different times of the day.
For some added height and texture I also put some dried Panicum foliage, a nice soft beige. I like having a bouquet in the house of whatever is blooming in my garden. Do you bring in any of your blooms?

What a cheerful bouquet! I was just checking to see how close the Grape Hyacinths are here. I really need to cut a little bouquet, not a whole lot to pick yet though.

DeleteJanet, what a lovely bouquet! My goal is always to have a bouquet from the garden on the table...but then life happens, and I'm bouquet-less. You've inspired me to take a little time today to "stop and CUT the flowers"! Sadly, my daffs are almost done.

DeleteSunshine in the house is perfect! It's raining so much here I need to go pick some sunshine too. I bring flowers inside but I don't try arrange them. My favorites to bring in are peonies-love their scent!

DeleteYour bouquet is just beautiful. We should bring them indoors to enjoy them more. A good way to remind us of Spring coming. I love the one double daffodil with just the touch of orange. It is so lovely. I have some budding along the woods now since it warmed up. I cannot wait to see them start blooming like yours.

DeleteI brought in a bunch of Daffodils last week and put them in a vase on the kitchen table. I was the only one who could smell them....what a shame for everyone else in the family...it is soccer season, so maybe their sense of smell has shut down for a while.

Deleteone of the best things about having daffodils is being able to bring a few inside. aren't they pretty?! i'm with nelljean...i never met a daffodil i didn't like either. i like the acorus in there, too. nice.

DeleteHi Janet, I'm enjoying reading your blog on a regular basis. I live not tooo far away, in Newberry County. Yes, I too try to bring in some of my blooms. Even in winter I'll cut some rosemary for the scent if there's nothing else. Right now I have a pink camilla-April Remembered- and some lovely white spirea. My daffodills are between blooms as my mid season ones bloomed earliest this year. I love seeing yours.

ReplyDeleteLovely flowers for inside on a dreary day. We had some daffodils brought in before a rain. Now we have a 5 inch RL Wheeler camellia bloom in a bowl, it fell off in the wind.
Randy, Love having Camellias inside too, hope next year mine will bloom enough to bring some in.

I think the double daffodils look so much prettier in a flower arrangement indoors than they do growing outside; I'll have to remember that when I finally have some blooms here. The only thing I have blooming right now are crocuses, which I don't think would make much of a bouquet:)

DeleteI LOVE bringing bouquets into the house. I enjoy flowers in the garden but they also do so much to brighten up the inside of the house too. Nothing says spring to me like daffodils, what a happy picture this bouquet is.
