I loved the pic of you guys on the boat, with the water dogs - life looks good.

I'll be interested to see what you keep planting up there (the 'Little Bunny' was certainly sweet - I'm not familiar with it, but I have some areas that needed something like that, something shorter - and that might just be the thing, if it can take coastal living).Pamhttp://www.talesfromthelaboratory.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119628314111837184.post-5766291699430788442010-08-27T08:15:55.555-04:002010-08-27T08:15:55.555-04:00Thanks Ray, think Little Bunny should do well for ...Thanks Ray, think Little Bunny should do well for you. Irrigation from the lake gave them a good start.

-Tina, I do feel lucky, especially with the gardenias...so fragrant! My husband was very wistful...to the point of getting a boat. :-)

-Rosey, I was very relaxed! Have enjoyed the heck out of going for an evening or morning ride.

-Racquel, thanks! We all have enjoyed going out on the boat. You are right, summer isn't summer without Miss Huff.

-Skeeter, yes we are settling in quite well. I talk to the little lizards too. There was one helping me plant some flowers the other day.

-RG, yes these plants are doing well. We are enjoying the big new toy....no grandkids yet, but certainly would be a treat to take them out on a boat.

-VW, we are finally done with the boxes, but a few things still need to find 'homes'. Bewteen the boat and the garden, putting things away is for a rainy day.

-Rose, we are!! I like Little Bunny, nice compact grass.
MG class is coming along nicely.

-AoF, she went out on the boat with us two nights ago!!

-Grace, it does feel like the lap of luxury. :-D
Each day more and more blooms are opening....oh the fragrances!

-Jan, think you would be very happy with Little Bunny. Hameln is also a nice small one.

-Kathleen, yes, we are lovin' it! Many of the shrubs and trees were put in my the landscaper. With dogs, I wanted sod and foundation plants in....red clay soil--ugh!
MG class is a little different than Virginia, so taking the class is good.Janet, The Queen of Seafordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07876204203323750245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119628314111837184.post-39912022608484180592010-08-24T23:57:31.910-04:002010-08-24T23:57:31.910-04:00Oh lovin' the new boat Janet! I think Gardenias have the most heavenly scent. I bought one and grew it in a container one year just to smell them. You're so lucky to have them growing in your garden.
The magnolia bud looks beautiful too. Glad to hear things are going well for you in SC. Hope you're enjoying your Master Gardener class too.Kathleenhttp://kaseyskorner.typepad.com/kaseys_kornernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119628314111837184.post-43377486098894430682010-08-22T09:42:19.225-04:002010-08-22T09:42:19.225-04:00Looks like you are settling in just fine. You are really going to enjoy that new toy you have. Bob got our boat ready to take out so we can take our boys fishing but the weather has been in the high 90s so we're going to wait now. We took Garrett out last year and he out fished us. Mason has never been out yet so that should be fun! I had never seen the green lizards (Anole) until we moved here to GA. They are the neatest little creatures and will change colors to brown when on a brown service! They are my little friends and I talk to them. Yes, I talk to the lizards!

I knew you would have a boat before too long :-) How could one live with a lake in their backyard and not have a boat?
