I Knew It Would Fit

Yesterday Charlie and I went up to Greenville to the Remodeling Home Expo.  We aren't remodeling anything but neighbors had a booth and shared some tickets with us, so we figured it would be fun to go and see what was there.  I miss the Home and GARDEN  shows.  We found a garden art booth and bought a couple items.  Oh, did I tell you?  We drove to Greenville in my car, not the truck.

You see it is about five feet tall and tree shaped.  Nice right?  I imagine we were great entertainment in the parking lot of the convention center.   Well those graceful reaching branches are about four feet across, my trunk?  Not very large.    We tried top end in first, bottom end in first.  Now remember, we are in a parking lot, of course there was a big truck parked right next to the car....hard to open the doors very wide.

See how the prongs hit the top of the back window shelf?   Good thing the back seats fold down, that helped.

Nice scaffolding of the branches, don't you agree?  It was a puzzle to get it in, moving the seats up and back, removing the headrest, easing it in, backing it out, over the front seat, then getting the seats to a drive-able position.  What fun!

Once we got home the puzzle had to be done in reverse.  Oh, the dogs helped a lot too.  At least at home we could open the doors wide enough to maneuver.
Also bought a cute little hummingbird piece that has a hook on the front.  Haven't figured out what to hang on it yet.  This one was easy to get in and out of the car.

Birds?  Yes, always a bird picture or two to share---  Mr. Mockingbird.
This is my holly.

You want to take my picture?? Wait, let me pose.
Is this my best side?
I will share pictures of the tree art in the garden as soon as I decide where to place it.  Stay tuned!

    1. Terra, It was close! Though our neighbors were there as well, with a truck, so if push came to shove, we could have had them bring it home.

  2. Dear Janet,
I can imagine that it was not easy and needed some sort of choreography to get it into the car. But I am a bit confused: what is it for?
I love your pictures of the mockingbird - the bird always reminds me of Thurber's story :-)

  8. Your mockingbird seems intrigued by all the activity in the driveway :>) How can they sit on burford holly leaves without getting stuck? A mystery to me.

  12. Your mockingbird captions gave me a chuckle! I am hopeless when it comes to figuring out how to fit something into the tight space of a car. Lucky for me, hubby is great at such things. As a last resort, he always has ropes in the back so we can put whatever I have bought on the roof of the car. I am looking forward to seeing how you work your art piece into the garden. The humming bird hanger will be nice to have at the front of the house.

    1. Jennifer, thanks, this mockingbird just seemed to have such an attitude! Oh, I don't think mine would have placed anything on the top! There is no luggage rack.

    1. Donna @GWGT, I am surprised you don't have them, will have to look at their range. If it is the same artist, what a small world!! Yes, prices were wonderful!
We have a full sized truck, but decided to take the Jetta since we don't use it too often.

  16. This is the type bottle tree I am looking for. I will come across one in time. I get a kick out of sitting in Lowes parking lot and watching people try to put things into their cars. Yes, I am warped but I do enjoy it. hee hee.... I once bought a large ceramic mosaic cafe table with two chairs from a Humane Society event! I told them if they could get it into my car with out putting a scratch in my new car, then I would buy it. I had a blast watching two men trying their best to get it into the car. I finally had to use my puzzle solving brain and guide them. I let them do the heavy work. All that and I ended up giving the table to my mom! The poor Saint never got to see the table I bought for our gardens. Ha...
