A beginning blog

Today is the first blog. It is my goal to write once a week, sharing what goes on in my garden in zone 7b. I chose this picture with my first post as I miss this setting. Living on a creek that feeds a river that feeds the Chesapeake Bay lends one to getting brackish water flooding at times. This is what my backyard looked like before Hurricane Isabel and subsequent nor'easters invaded the yard. New plants have been added and once spring comes we shall see what has survived another season.

  1. Hi, Janet! Welcome to blogging. We were hit hard by Isabel, too--we lost hundreds of trees--literally. But we're pulling everything back together. Ok, here's who you have to visit: Les , Racquel Phillip, and Jeff. They're all tidewater. I'm going to stop typing code in now, but from my blogroll, you also have to visit "In the Garden" (that's Tina, my guru) and "Defining Your Home Garden"(an NC gardener with many of the same challenges and great ideas about how to address them). But heck, I shouldn't play favorites--I love all the blogs on my blogroll--you're going to have so much fun!

  2. Cosmo-
Thanks for the post. You are my first. I will try to post more regularly, my kids think I should post frequently. I found you via Les. Thanks for the other recommendations.

  3. Hi! I found you through a comment you left somewhere. I know Cosmo, too. I'm from Nebraska, though, zone 5b. I have visited the Outer Banks, and loved the ocean. I would move if my family would come with me.

Welcome to blogging! I just started in early October.

  4. It is a very pretty picture and all well composed. I hope the garden comes back even better than before. And welcome to blogging. It is always exciting to meet new bloggers, as I remember those days-very well-more than I like to actually. Anyhow, have a Happy New Year!
